WINE REGION The Umbrian region of central Italy is bordered by Tuscany to the west, the Marche to the east, and Lazio to the south. It is the only Italian region which is both landlocked and with no common border with other countries. Umbria is the fourth smallest of Italy’s 20 regions in terms of size and population and produce only one third of the wines of neighbouring Tuscany. Orvieto is the region’s most significant DOC wine accounting for 2/3 of the DOC production.

Davino Srl Tenimenti Santa Francesca is a new Company in Orvieto born the last few years from the experience of the 26 members sharing their knowledge, professionalism and passion for winemaking and at the same time wanting to enhance the reputation of the Umbrian region.

VINEYARDS There are 300 hectares of vineyards owned by the 26 members, of which the Lumini family own 126 hectares of the vineyards. These vineyards are planted with Trebbiano Grechetto, Malvasia, Pinot Grigio, Drupeggio and Vermentino white grapes. and Sangiovese Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo and Barbera red grapes.
