Luke 24: 9 & 11 9 “When [the women] came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others… 11 But they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense.”

“A Walk to Remember”  The Emmaus Road Story Luke 24: 13-35

Luke 24:32 “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”

Luke 12: “I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! 50 But I have a baptism to undergo, and what constraint I am under until it is completed!”

Luke 12:35 “Be dressed, ready for service and keep your lamps burning”

Psalm 18:28 “You, L ORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.”

In our Christian “walk” with Jesus, Do we… Talk with him? Ask him to Stay longer in our lives? Dine with him? Recognize him?

In our upcoming sermons on “The Book of Acts” and the stories of the early church… may your hearts burn with longing and hope for all that God has done and can do through His people!

I pray that you will “walk” with these stories and passages throughout each week… allowing God to speak personally to you on how best to apply it in your lives.

In reality, we are all on the “Emmaus Road”: We each live with a flicker of hope that God is up to something miraculous in this dark world, and that we might get to see it unfold.
