Arnota Monastery has been founded by Matei Basarab in 1634 and renovated by Constantin Brancoveanu (between 1705 and 1706), Barbu Stirbei Voievode (between 1852 and 1856), the entire establishment was consolidated between 1954 and 1958 and in 1999 the holy establishment was transformed into a convent for nuns.
