Cyber crime training embedded into all probationer and detective training. Authorised Professional Practice – single source of guidance. Specialist Cyber Investigation

Training the Specialist Cyber Cop Investigator V Techy Traditional ‘dead box’ forensics training - limited value in cyber investigations Police trainer knowledge base Private sector training – suitability and cost Can universities produce the ‘ready to deploy’ Cyber Cops of the future ? Cyber Task Force – Can you help ?

Criminalisation of the Online Gamer " There are some sorts of criminality that youngsters don't think of as serious. Stealing gold off each other in online games, cheating if you like. It would be hard to imagine a knock on the door from a policeman because you've stolen a sword off your friend in World Of Warcraft." “The motivations ….are often not money, but rather the challenge or an interest in experimenting”. “Some of those involved do not always realise what they are doing may be illegal”. Dr Jamie Saunders NCA

Blurring of the ethical lines Section 1 Computer Misuse Act – unauthorised access to computer material.

“Every criminal has to have that moment when they start down that path…….” Can you identify those who are in danger of taking that path ? Can you intervene to prevent them doing so ? Is there a need to include greater emphasis on ethical use of the internet as well as safe us in educational programmes ?
