B ACKGROUNDER 70% of registered SMEs are owned by women (National Statistics Office, NSO) 69% of start-ups owned by women (Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, GEM) 51% of businesses 1 to 3 years old are owned by women (GEM) But 66% of established businesses (more than 3 years) are owned by men

B ACKGROUNDER 49.7% of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) are females 53.8% of female OFWs are between years old Only 10% of female OFWs are above 45 year old 51% of female OFWs are unskilled Entrepreneurship promotion will open domestic livelihood opportunities
