Remove and replace a Vauxhall Zafira strut How to Remove and replace a Vauxhall Zafira strut

Jack up the vehicle and support on axle stands.

Disconnect the anti roll bar link

Slacken and remove the lower shock absorber bolts

Ease the shock absorber away from the hub assembly

From under the bonnet, remove the windscreen wiper and the nut holding down the offside scuttle panel

While an assistant supports the shock absorber, slacken and remove the upper strut nut and cup.

Remove the shock absorber from under the wing. Replacement, simply reverse the steps you took to remove the strut, if possible lubricate all bolts and nuts with copper grease on reassembly

Correctly position the brake hose support bracket before tightening the lower shock absorber bolts

The strut was removed to replace a broken coil spring.

If you are replacing the spring yourself ensure you use a suitable spring compressor

Before loosening the top shock absorber nut.
