provide for the sharing of certain cyber threat intelligence and cyber threat information between the intelligence community and cyber security entities, and for other purposes. Basically, this is stating that certain cyber threat information would be shared between the intelligence community which consists of 17 IC member agencies which include Air Force Intelligence, Army Intelligence, Department of State, etc.

The bill was introduced and sponsored by Rep Mike J. Rogers and cosponsored by 112 others on November 30, 2011 Referred to Committee November 30, 2011 Reported by Committee December 1, 2011 Passed House April 26, 2012 It has yet to pass Senate and be signed by the President.

Anyone who uses any form of internet service CISPA formally allows companies for violate their terms of service by requesting them to open up their databases and networks. However, CISPA only allows the request of such actions. The government can’t force them to.
