Sin No More… UNFORGIVING  Definition of UNFORGIVING:  not disposed to forgive or show mercy; unrelenting  not willing to forgive; unmerciful; harsh and unremiting  not allowing for mistakes, carelessness, or weakness

Sin No More… UNFORGIVING  Jesus Teaches on Mercy & Forgiveness

Jesus Teaches on Forgiveness  Matthew 5:7 –  “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy”

Jesus Teaches on Forgiveness  Matthew 6:9-15 –  “And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.”  “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.  But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

Jesus Teaches on Forgiveness  Luke 10:25-37 –  “And he said, He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”

Jesus Teaches on Forgiveness  Luke 17:3-5 –  “Take heed to yourselves, if your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.”  “And the apostles said to the Lord, ‘Increase our faith’.”

The End of the Unforgiving  II Timothy 3:1-5 –  “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be… unloving, unforgiving… from such people turn away!”

The End of the Unforgiving  Romans 1:29-32 –  “being filled with all unrighteousness… unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death”

We Must Be a Forgiving People  Ephesians 4:31-32 –  “Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.”

We Must Be a Forgiving People  Matthew 18:10-15 –  “Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother.”

We Must Be a Forgiving People  II Corinthians 2:4-11 –  “so that, on the contrary, you ought rather to forgive and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one be swallowed up with too much sorrow. Therefore I urge you to reaffirm your love to him.”

Conclusion  Unforgiving is sin & we must treat it that way.  Unforgiving is serious.  Unforgiving separates us from God, from God’s blessings, and from God’s promises.  Unforgiving will keep us out of heaven.  We are to be a forgiving people and forgive others, even as God in Christ has forgave us.

Conclusion  Ephesians 4:31-32 –  “forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.”

God’s Plan of Salvation  Hear the Word of God (Romans 10:17)  Believe in Jesus (Mark 16:16)  Repent of Sins (Acts 2:38)  Confess Faith in Christ (Acts 8:37)  Be Baptized in Water (Acts 22:16)  Remain Faithful & Grow(Revelations 2:10)  If err, repent and pray to God (Acts 8:22)

Lord’s Supper  Partaking of the Bread:  I Corinthians 11:24 –  “and when He has given thanks, He broke it and said, ‘Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”

Lord’s Supper  Partaking of the Fruit of the Vine:  I Corinthians 11:26 –  “In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”
