Bees - 2 Flies - 3 Ladybirds – 4 Ants – 5 Dragonflies – 6 Glossary - 7

Bees are insects. Some bees make honey. Bees have two pairs of wings on its back. Bees live in hives. Some bees are honey bees or bumble bees and wasp.

There are different colours. ladybirds wings cases don’t move when the ladybird is flying. Ladybirds eat aphids or greenflies. aphids are pests. Pests are insects that eat crops.

Flies are pests. Flies have three pairs of legs. Flies have three body parts head, thorax, abdomen.

.Ants have three body parts, head,thorax and abdomen. antennae..Ants have strong jaws. All insects have six legs. They live in holes.

Dragonflies have two pairs of wings. Most insects live only for a few days, weeks, or months. A queen termite may live for 20 years. A young dragonfly cannot fly until its wings have stretched and hardened.
