Who are child soldiers? A person under the age of 18 that takes part in armed forces or armed units of any size is considered a child soldier. These boys and girls are often used as messengers, servants, warriors etc.

Which rights are violated? -Every child has the right to get proper education - Children are not allowed to work - Children have the right to meet and associate as they choose - Every child has the right to play and have free time Children must not become victims of violence or war!!!

Child soldiers are mainly located in the states and areas with an ongoing armed conflict. Most of the approximately 300,000 child soldiers come mainly from the Central Africa, South East Asia and the Middle East.

Old enough to kill, but too young to vote. When in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 1997 Mr L. Kabila came to power, CNN and other stations were watching the procedure of his fighters across the country, though they did not comment the fact that he was the head of an army, in which children took the main part. Many of them were younger than eight!!!
