Summary The book "The Outsiders" is about three brothers named Ponyboy, Sodapop, and Darry. The three boys and their gang are in a group called the greasers. They are all big and tough. The greasers are often fighting with a wealthy show off gang who like to beat up the greasers for fun, the Socs.(SOSH - ES) Ponyboy Sodapop and Darry's Parents died in a car crash. Now the boys live on their own. Darry is 20 years old and has a jobs. He finished high school but never went to college, he had to get a job to support his family. Sodapop 16 going on 17 and has a job at the DX gas station. Soda had to drop out of high school on his Junior year to get a job. Ponyboy is shy and quiet. He gets good grades and likes to draw and read. Darry still yells at him to get better grades because he want Ponyboy to go to college. One time Darry yelled at Ponyboy so much toget his grades better that when Ponyboy talks back Darry slaps him. Ponyboy runs out of the house and is going to run away, then he finds someone.
