The blues reflect the hardships and difficulties of slavery and the life they now were forced to lead. In the 1900s, the Blues had developed into a standard musical form and they continued to develop further into the 1930s. The blues began to divide into two different sounds: the country or rural blues and the city or urban blues. With the development of the electric guitar in the late 1940s/early 1950s, a newer style of blues was being heard and even played on the radio. Eventually, this style grew further and began to branch off into a new sound, one called Rock ’n’ Roll
