Tsunamis Human responses to the changing Earth By Hassan and Muna

Here is a video of how a tsunami happens and what effect happens!!!!

 Tsunami means harbor waves in Japanese.  Some people call Tsunamis Tidal waves but tides do no create waves.  Most waves come from wind moving over water.  Tsunami waves come from deep down in the ocean.  Tsunamis start when a huge volume of water is quickly shifted. Introduction

 Tsunamis are caused by an underwater Earthquake, a volcanic eruption, a submarine, an underwater rock slide, or more rarely by an asteroid or meteorite crashing into the water from space.  Most Tsunamis are caused by underwater Earthquakes, but not all underwater Earthquakes cause Tsunamis – an Earthquake has to be over about magnitude 6.75 on the richer scale for it to cause a Tsunami.  About 90% of all Tsunamis occur in the pacific ocean. What causes a Tsunami to happen?

 Tsunamis change the Earth by destroying houses, roads, apartments, hotels and schools.  Tsunamis change the Earth by destroying valuable things and changing the image of things by destroying them.  Tsunamis continue to change the Earth by destroying more useful things such as money and shelter.  Technology is useful because a phone is technology and you might need to call for help during a Tsunami. How do Tsunamis change the Earth and continue to change the Earth?

 Humans have a warning system to warn people.  Humans say, “ In case of Tsunamis go to high ground or in land. Human responses to Tsunamis

This is a video of the 2004 Tsunami!!!!

 Tsunamis can travel as fast as a jet. They can go across the entire ocean in just a few hours!!!! The speed is 970 km per hour!!!! Tsunamis are often barely visible when they are in the deep sea.  Five days after the 2004 Tsunami, a woman named Malawati was found alive clinging to a palm tree. She was a 100m out to sea.  The bottom of a wave is the Trough and the top is the crest. Extra Information
