Keirsey Temperament Sorter

Based on work done by Myers and Briggs who created a personality inventory that listed 16 different types of personalities.

16 Personality Types Based on four combinations of two characteristics –Extravert vs Introvert –Sensing vs Intuitive –Thinking vs Feeling –Judging vs Perceiving

Types First we look at the most natural energy orientation –Extravert Directed towards outer world of activities, excitements, people and things –Introvert Directed inward to world of thoughts, interests, ideas and imagination

Types continued Look at way of perceiving or understanding that is most natural –Sensing Notices sights, sounds, smells and all sensory details of present, looks at here and now –Intuitive Seeks to understand, interpret and form overall patterns, looks at possibilities & future

Types continued Look at which way of forming judgments and making choices is most natural –Thinking Analyzes information in detached, objective fashion from factual principles, logical nature –Feeling Forms conclusions in attached and global manner, based on impact of others and values

Types continued Look at what is action orientation towards outside world –Judging Looks at outside world with a plan to organize surroundings, being prepared, making decisions & reaching closure –Perceiving Looks at outside world as it comes and is adopting and adapting, flexible, open-ended to new opportunities and changing game plans
