5 rules of football

offside If any player is ahead of the ball and having fewer than two defenders nearer the goal line at the moment the ball is played it is offside.

High foot Football players are not allowed to raise their feet above a certain height as it is seen as dangerous play. For example see picture below. The risks are that your could accidentally kick or do serious damage to other players.

Hand ball A hand ball is when the ball hits any part of the outfield players arm accept for the shoulder. Players are only allowed to touch the ball with their hand when it’s a throw in If the ball is kicked accidentally against another players hand, its the referee’s decision to call a hand ball or not. It is fair because no outfield player has an advantage of using their hands. Sometimes it might not be fair if the ball hit the player hand accidentally but the referee might still call a foul. It shouldn’t be changed because the rule goes for everybody and keeps it equal.

Foul When you go in for a tackle make sure you try and get the ball not the player because the referee will call a foul and can give a red or yellow card. If it’s a really bad tackle and you injure severely the player they might get a ban.

Back Pass A back pass is when a out field player passes the ball back to their own goalkeeper and he picks it up. If the goal keeper does not pick it up the ball when it is passed back to him the referee cannot call a free kick.

3 Regulations in Football The ball has to be a size five ball. The length of a pitch must be between 100 yards and 130 yards and the width not less than 50 yards and not more than 100 yards. And what about where most of the action happens - the Their can only be 11 players on the pitch on each team so nobody has an advantage. Player need shin pads to protect their shins from any injury Nobody is allowed any jewellery because it could be dangerous. To themselves and other players

Section B: Roles Of Officials Football In football the referee manages the game. He/she ensures the football safety of the players on the pitch. Making accurate decisions. To make the game fair for both teams. To call over the physio if a player is seriously injured.

The official in football are: In football there are 4 officials Referee: The referee enforces the laws of the game, giving free-kicks if there is any foul play and keeping a check on the time. The referee can also postpone, stop, suspend or call off a match if there are weather or crowd problems. 2 lines men: The assistant referee helps out with decisions such as throw-ins and offsides and sometimes will have a better view of fouls than the referee. 4 th official: shows every body how much time is left and the end of each half. He stands on the touchline, assisting with substitutions and keeping a check on the managers.

The responsibilities of a referee are. To keep fit so they can keep up with the game. Regular eye tests to make good decisions. Pack the right equipment for the game. Read the rule book regularly so the referee’s do not forget the rules.

Scoring system The team that scores the most goals is the winner. A goal is scored when the ball crosses over the goal line. 3 points for a win 1 points for a draw 0 points for a loss
