Scope of the study Text of the Convention on Biological Diversity: all implementation-oriented articles appear to have relevance to banking and business sectors Decisions adopted by six meetings of the Conference of the Parties: over 50 decisions contain provisions related to banking and business sectors

Defining the Banking and Business Sectors Various terms used in COP decisions “The private sector” is a more commonly used term. Implicitly the banking sector is included in the term “funding institutions” The term “business” may be considered to include all relevant sectoral and cross- sectoral activities
