Introductory Rites The beginning of the Mass, altar servers, other ministers and a priest walk behind the cross in procession As the Priest reaches the sanctuary, he invites us to make the sign of the cross Priest: The Lord be with you We Reply: And with your spirit

..Introductory Rites Penitential Act: I confess to almighty God, and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and what I have failed to do, through my fault, through my fault through my most grievous fault; therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin, all the Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God. Then: Priest: Lord, have mercy. R: Lord, have mercy. Priest: Christ, have mercy. R: Christ, have mercy.

..Introductory Rites GLORIA: Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will. We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory, Lord God, heavenly King, O God, almighty Father. Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; you take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer; you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us. For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen

Liturgy of the Word FIRST READING: Reader: The Word of the Lord Usually from the Old Testament Reader: The Word of the Lord We Reply: Thanks be to God Responsorial Psalm

Liturgy of the Word SECOND READING: Reader: The Word of the Lord. The second reading is usually taken from one of the letters written by the apostles to the earliest Christians. Reader: The Word of the Lord. We Repy: Thanks be to God.

Liturgy of the Word GOSPEL ACCLAMATION: Deacon (or Priest): A Reading from the holy Gospel according to N. We Reply: Glory to you, O Lord. GOSPEL: Deacon (or Priest): The Gospel of the Lord. We Reply: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. HOMILY

Liturgy of the Word PROFESSION OF FAITH: The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen. OR Nicene Creed

Liturgy of the Word PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL: This is where we bring our needs to God. There is nothing too big or too small to pray about. Usually, we respond: Lord, hear our prayer.

Liturgy of the Eucharist PRESENTATION AND PREPARATION OF THE GIFTS: The Priest receives the bread and wine that will become the real presence of Jesus. Ushers also collect money to help the Church and the poor. As the bread and wine are prepared, we thank God for all that he gives us. Priest: Pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, the almighty Father. We Reply: May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of his name, for our good and the good of all his holy Church. gf

Liturgy of the Eucharist EUCHARISTIC PRAYER The most important part of the Mass. Priest: The Lord be with you. We Reply: And with your spirit. Priest: Lift up your hearts. We Reply: We lift them up to the Lord. Priest: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God We Reply: It is right and just.

Liturgy of the Eucharist SANCTUS OR HOLY, HOLY, HOLY: Priest: And so we join the angels and the saints as they sing their un‐ending hymn of praise: We reply: Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts. Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. EPICLESIS Now the priest extends his hands over the bread and wine, an alter server may ring the bells.

Liturgy of the Eucharist ANAMNESIS AND CONSECRATION the “remembrance”. We recall what Jesus said or did on the night before he died. It is then consecrated or made holy. The Priest Raises the host.. An alter server may ring the bells. The Priest genuflects in adoration to Jesus in the Eucharist.. The Priest raises the chalice… Again, the priest genuflects in adoration to Jesus in the Eucharist.

Liturgy of the Eucharist MYSTERY OF THE FAITH: Our faith is full of mystery- not mysteries to be solved, but the kind that ought to amaze us. Jesus calls us to follow him, and give us the Holy Spirit to help us reach heaven. Priest: The mystery of faith. We reply: When we eat this Bread and drink this Cup, we proclaim your Death, O Lord, until you come again.

Liturgy of the Eucharist DOXOLOGY: The Eucharistic Prayer ends with the doxology. Together with the priest, we give honor and glory to God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. The priest or priest and deacon raise the Host and chalice together. Priest: Through him, and with him, and in him, O God, almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honour is yours, for ever and ever. We reply: Amen.

Liturgy of the Eucharist COMMUNION RITE Priest: At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare say: ALL: “Our Father, who art in heaven……” Priest: Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from Priest:  Deliver us, Lord, we pray. From every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ,
All:  For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and forever. Amen Sign of Peace: Priest:  The Peace of the Lord be with you always.
All: And with your spirit. Priest:  Let us offer each other a sign of peace.

Liturgy of the Eucharist FRACTION (BREAKING OF THE BREAD): The priest breaks the Host into smaller pieces, just as Jesus did in the Last Supper. LAMB OF GOD: Now we say or sing the Lamb of God. We remember the first Passover, and how God saved his people from slavery in Egypt. ALL: Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, grant us peace.

Liturgy of the Eucharist HOLY COMMUNION: Priest: Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the sins of the world. Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb. We reply: Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed. The Priest, deacon, or minister offers us a host: We Hear: The Body of Christ. We Answer: Amen. Sign of the cross, and then return to your seat and kneel. The Priest offers a prayer that changes every Sunday.

Concluding Rites Priest: The Lord be with you All: And with your spirit. Priest: May Almighty God bless you, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Priest: Go in peace, glorifying the Lord by your life. We reply: Thanks be to God.
