V i t a l i s ECE Spring 2013 TEAM 13 Presenter: Yi Shen Wireless Biometric Sensor Team Members: Aakash Lamba Di Mo Shantanu Joshi Yi Shen Schematic and Theory Operation

The aim of the project is to create a prototype of a portable wireless biometric sensor that can provide doctors/nurses with an efficient way of handling multiple patients in a hospital environment. The main advantages this device would have over conventional monitors are it’s portability, unobtrusive nature and size. The battery-powered device is mounted on the wrist and monitors vital health parameters such as pulse rate, SpO 2 and skin temperature then transmits the information via WiFi for remote web access. In addition, a NFC chip embedded on the device will allow immediate access to a patient’s charts on any NFC compatible device. The device will also include fall detection as well as a manual and automatic alarm system. Project Abstract
