The 2012 UW freshman class of approximately 6,050 will include approximately:  709 historically underrepresented students or 11.7% (compared to 12.4% last year).  With the addition of Asian-American students (approximately 1,777), the student of color proportion of the freshman class will be 40.5%.  About 28% appear to be the first in their families who would attain a 4-yr degree.  Roughly 20% appear to be from low-income families.
