“How to be Filled with the Holy Spirit.”

WHERE HAVE WE COME FROM?

John 7:37-39 On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.

WHAT IS REQUIRED? 1. SINCERELY DESIRE TO CONTROLLED AND EMPOWERED BY GOD… Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

WHAT IS REQUIRED? 2. WORSHIP GOD IN SUBMISSION WITHOUT RESERVATION

WHAT IS SPIRITUAL BREATHING? 1. COMMAND - SOMETHING TO BE SIMPLY OBEYED Ephesians 5:18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.

2. BREATHE OUT - CONFESS OUR SIN 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

3. BREATHE IN - CLAIM THE FILLING BY FAITH SUBMTTING TO CHRIST AFRESH 1 John 5:14,15 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have what we asked of him.

Prayer… Father, I thank you for your word and your command to be filled with the Spirit. I want to confess my sin before you, I confess my total need of you and I accept your forgiveness. I now simply ask you to fill me with your Holy Spirit. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

WHERE TO FROM HERE? Commit each day into God’s hands. Thank Him that you belong to Him Thank Him that He knows what the day holds for you. Ask Him to take your life and use it for His glory. Ask Him to cleanse you from anything which would hinder His work in your life. Then step out in faith, knowing that His Holy Spirit is filling you continually as you trust in Him and obey His Word.
