The book takes place in the future, where practically everyone has a device called “The Feed”. These teenagers go up to the moon to try and have some fun. The moon is now a party place where humans can inhabit. One of the teenagers named Titus meets a girl named Violet. They befriend each other and go to a party. While the teenagers try to enjoy their time, they unexpectedly meet a hacker which made them his puppets. The teenagers then get their feeds “shutdown” by the police and brought to the hospital. Eventually all of them get their feeds back but Violet seemed different. About the book!

The World Of Feed

How is it dystopian? Can’t think for themselves! Environment has turned the tables! Ruled by corporation! Pg.284 “ My mom had lost so much skin you could see her teeth even when her mouth was closed.” Pg.48 “Everything we think and feel is taken in by the corporations”

-Everyone communicates with their feed. 1. Conversations 2. School 3. Watching TV 4. Calling People Pg. 48 “the girls were all missing their favorite feedcast, this show called Oh? Wow! Thing!” Pg. 14 “Her spine was, I didn’t know the word. Her spine was like…? The feed suggested “supple.” ” How does society work?

What does the world look like? Environment? -No more forests! -“Air Factories” -Lesions (Scabs from radiation) -Fake animals Pg. 125 “Yeah Jefferson Park? Yeah. That was knocked down to make an air factory.” Pg. 11 “We had the lesions that people were getting, and ours right then were kind of red and wet-looking.”

Stupid? Ignorant? Snobby? Pg.109 “I did get worried that she was too smart for me. I don’t do too good in School, so I was reminded pretty often I was stupid.” Pg. 71 “And the feed was pouring in on us now... And we could feel all of our favorites... We were dancing in like rain, and we couldn't stop laughing, and we were running out hands across our bodies, feeling them again, and I saw violet almost historical with laughter” What are the people like?

Pg. 134 “They must've had just one sun for the whole place... Houses were really old and flat... Streets where blue and cracked, and they were streets, I mean, like for when things go on the ground. Their sun was up and you could see the sky was peeling.” Environment

Pg. 113 “No one with feeds thinks about, she said. When you have the feed all your life, you’re brought up to not think about things. Like them never telling you that it’s a republic and not a democracy… Because of the feed, we’re raising a nation of idiots. Ignorant, self-centered idiots.” Pg.47 "Thats one of the great things about the feed-- that you can be super smart without ever working. Everyone is supersmart now " Intelligence

We have no interest in how they were produced or what happens to them” Pg.186 “He’s the product of this government experiment…His family’s like really old and meg rich?...He was cloned from the bloodstains found on Mary Todd Lincoln’s opera cloak.” Consumption

Pg.38 “They were protesting all these things… They were shouting, “Chip in my head? I’m better off dead!” Pg.262 “They can still predict things I like. She sighed. They’re really close to winning. I’m trying to resist, but they’re close to winning.” Resistance
