ENTREPRENUERSHIP THE CASE DMJ TRANSPORT

THE BACKGROUND It started as a taxi operation between the rural areas of the Eastern Cape and Cape Town in the early 90’s. The owner, David Mcebisi Jwambi, single-handedly developed this operation into a fully-fledged luxury coach operation. In 1999 he started an office in a container at the backyard in Langa township. The head office is in Cape Town and other offices are in JHB,PTA, Ngcobo, Ngqamakhwe (his home town), Mt Frere, KWT and EL.

ROUTE Daily operation between CT and Mthatha using N2 route. Garden route- between CT and EL New route- between CT, EL and JHB.

PRIVATE HIRE Coaches are hired out for private use to schools, sport and organised parties.

EXERCISE Learners list and differentiate between the forms of ownership. Advantages and disadvantages of a sole trader. Do a research on a sole trader in the community.
