Bioaccumulation Definition: The accumulation (gradual gathering) of substances transferring from the environment into an organism. Types of Substances that can accumulate: Nutrients, Toxins, Pesticides, Organic and Inorganic Compounds and Elements (such as mercury), and other pollutants.
