Procedure and Information Memos u These routine messages usually flow downward; they deliver company information and describe procedures. u Tone is important; managers seek employee participation and cooperation. u Express ideas positively u Give reasons for policies u Suggest benefits to readers

Confirmation Memos u Also called “to-file” reports or “incident” reports. u Record oral decisions, directives, and discussions. u Include names and titles of people involved. u Itemize major issues and request confirmation from the receiver.
