The Experiment The experiment is funded by the Hong Kong Government. There are no correct/wrong answers, neither are there any smart/stupid decisions. Simply make decisions in this experiment based on your own will. Having said that, the amount you earn will depend on your decisions in the experiments. During the experiment, please do not talk to each other.

Instructions You have been allotted HK$50. You may give away up to HK$15 to someone randomly selected from another group of students in a nearby classroom. Whether you decide to give is confidential. (We do not ask for your identity. We only ask for your name to verify participation.)

Double Blind Design This design is for maintaining your anonymity throughout and after the experiment. We can guarantee that if you follow our procedures closely, not only other participants will not know your decisions, even as an experimenter, I also will never know what decisions each of you made individually. You are randomly distributed a key with a SECRET ACCOUNT NUMBER on it. Please keep the account number only to yourself.

Important Write down your code in the box provided in PART ONE only at the back of the form. (Note: this is important. If you don’t write down your code, we will not know how much you made in this experiment.) Part 1 Your code: (required)

Double Blind Design All the forms are collected at the same time and thus we don’t know who actually make what decisions. We are only interested in your decisions at an aggregate level but not at an individual level. The writing down of account numbers is just for payment purpose, which will be explained later.
