~Closing Lesson~ What did you learn from the solar activity? What is the sun made of? What elements are most abundant on the sun? How do you know?

Why is it important to study the Sun? 1. Affects on the Earth – “Space Weather” Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights), effects on communications, climate, astronaut and NASA activities! 2. Learn more about the Sun! 3. Helps us learn more about other distant stars!

Effects of the Sun’s activity on Earth: Communications: What are things you or others use everyday that are forms of communication or activities that need communication? How do these items work? How can the sun effect these items?

Why would we want to Learn more about our Sun? How long is our sun going to live? How is the sun going to change over the years? Can we predict solar storms, prominances, sunspots and the amount of solar wind that will be released from the sun? What is the benefit of predicting solar storms etc.?
