BINA NUSANTARA Pertemuan 12

BINA NUSANTARA INTRODUCTION The design of cognitive work has not been traditionally included as part of methods engineering. Machines & equipment are becoming increasingly complex and semi, if not, fully automated. The operator must be able to perceive and interpret large amounts of information, make critical decisions, and be able to control these machines quickly and accurately.

BINA NUSANTARA INTRODUCTION This chapter explains information theory, presents a basic conceptual model of the human as an information processor, and details how best to code and display information for maximum effectiveness, especially with auditory and visual displays.

BINA NUSANTARA INFORMATION THEORY Information, in the everyday sense of the word, is knowledge received regarding a particular fact. In the technical sense, information is the reduction of uncertainty about this fact. For example, the fact that the engine (oil) light comes on when a car is started provides very little information (other than the lightbulb is functioning) because it is expected.

BINA NUSANTARA MOTION ECONOMY 1. Gilbreth : –Motion Study –Motion Economy 2. Barnes (1980) Prinsip Ekonomi Gerakan (Motion Economy) pada : Penggunaan Badan / Anggota tubuh Manusia Tempat Kerja Berlangsung Peralatan Kerja yang digunakan

BINA NUSANTARA HUMAN INFORMATION PROCESSING MODEL Numerous models have been put forward to explain how people process information. Figure 12 presents one such generic model consisting of four major stages or components : perception, decision and response selection, response execution, memory, and attentional resources distributed over various stages.
