Progress Report: A General Purpose Metadata Catalogue Service Yeh-Ching Chung System Software Laboratory

2004/09/16SSLAB A General Purpose Metadata Catalogue Service In a grid infrastructure, extensible, reliable, high performance Grid services are required to support registration and query of metadata information. An independent, non-application-specific implementation of Metadata Catalogue Service favors component reusability, regularity and design simplicity. Any application which requires frequently manipulation of Metadata should benefit from the presence of Metadata Catalogue Service. Implementation cost application interoperability etc.

2004/09/16SSLAB Current Progress Surveyed and surveying: Data steaming techniques and applications. P2P infrastructures and applications. OGSI (open grid service infrastructure) specifications and experimenting with some basic grid web services. Working out APIs for the Metadata Catalogue Service.
