Presentation transcript:

Homework - Individual Model part of your design concept –Part must have significant geometry (i.e. no simple blocks or cylinders) Create a Drawing of your part (Drafter) All teams refer to design project handout

Homework Del. 3 - Team Due: 7C -> 8B Bring all parts together into an assembly file and position them to show your design intent. Printout 3 Engineering Drawings (using Drafter): – An overall external isometric view of your assembly – An isometric view of internal components – Front, Top and Side Orthogonal Views of the Assembly showing the overall dimensions of your concept design. All sheets need to have Title Block/Info, Border, and appropriate notes

As a Team Look at examples of Student Work

Deliverable 4: Configuration Diagrams Typically done in block diagram format Can use simple graphics or schematics Purpose – show the system components and subsystems – show the connection or interaction between components

Configuration Diagrams

Homework Del. 4 - Brew Brew Teams - Draw a configuration diagram showing all the electrical/mechanical subsystems in your design Signal connections need to be shown and labelled All teams … refer to your RFP for specifics

DP - Controls Configuration Diagram Brew Teams Use a simple block diagram format to show your equipment configuration; i.e., tanks, pumps, valves, motors, etc. and how they are connected Show basic instrument and control signals

DP - Controls Configuration Diagram Brew Teams

Homework Del. 4 – HPV/Flood Create two 2-D Drawings of infrastructure needed. – HPV Teams: Draw a configuration of “Road infrastructure that would make your concept successful”. – Flood teams: Draw a configuration of infrastructure needed for management and evacuation planning Improve upon current evacuation routes / transportation options or flood control structures “Install” your flood control option into New Orleans civil infrastructure (easiest to import a.jpg map of city into MS Visio and draw additions over top) All teams … refer to your RFP for specifics

Current Flood Control Infrastructure

Memo Attach your Physical Models (UGNX printouts) and Configuration Diagrams to a memo. In the memo, introduce the attachments (provide any additional explanation or description) and report your team's progress on the project (are you on plan?) Close with a requested action.
