A. Baldini PSI July 04 Highlights Beam: spot size bigger than previous estimates  MC simulations: is this a problem ? Magnet: interaction with the other experiments Xenon detector: PMTs with double Al layer tested (very good results) work on a modified base (zener diodes) Drift chambers: test of foils stability  introduction of a carbon fiber Timing counter: test in the COBRA field Electronics: new design of the DSR (x-talk) Software: framework chosen. Further people joining the experiment

A. Baldini PSI July 04 Construction Beam: Triplet I and II finished BTS specifications sent to Novosibirsk Xenon detector: Cryostat design finished (order in September) 290 PMTs ordered Design of the PMT supporting structure Timing Counter: 2’’ PMTs soon ordered final design started

A. Baldini PSI July 04 Tests Neutron test done in the past days (to be continued): initial results Timing counters in Cobra + test of full size at different angles New Xenon test this year with negative pions to test timing resolutions with the new PMTs and final electronics (dsr, Trigger) + calibration wires (spots on a thin wire)
