Selecting the Platform (OS) The Palm OS powers PDAs by –Palm –Handspring –Sony The Pocket PC is powered by MS Windows CE OS PDA with Linux OS, e.g., Sharp Zaurus SL-5500

MS Windows CE OS Unlike the Palm OS that focuses on usual everyday uses the Pocket PC 2002 with MS Win CE uses more colors and can dazzle you with voice recordings and full color video playbacks.

MS Windows CE OS: Applications

Palm’s HotSync Software Palm’s best feature is its interaction with a PC. All Palm applications are copied to the PC and allow for smooth updating from one system to the other. The latest Palm 4.1 OS include WordToGO and SheetToGo which are fully compatible with MS Word and MS Excel.

Palm's Wireless Device The i705 has a built-in antenna, a universal connector for add-ons and syncing, and a postage stamp-size Secure Digital expansion slot. It also includes numerous features designed to provide efficient services.

Pocket PC’s Active Sync Pocket PC stores files and folders and can store Word and Excel file but it does not recreate the PDA on the desktop as the Palm does.
