Our Patient Assistance Program …for Prescription Medications n Seniors who are having trouble paying for the high cost of prescription medications, may qualify to get free medications from pharmaceutical companies. n We actively pursue these opportunities for our patients. n In order to qualify: 1)They cannot have health insurance that covers prescription drugs. 2)They cannot qualify for or be enrolled in a government program that covers medication. 3)They must meet the pharmaceutical companies' income guidelines. Different companies have different income standards.

Our Patient Assistance Program… (2) n The drug companies give away millions of dollars of prescriptions every year, but they rarely publicize these free programs. n At no charge to our patients, we apply for these free prescriptions for them. Not all medications are covered by these free programs, but a great many are available. n Our Patient Assistance Program has served hundreds of seniors in our community. Many of the seniors in our community are on fixed or limited income. n We work with over 30 drug companies including, Abbott, Bayer, Bristol- Meyers Squibb, Glaxo Wellcome, Lilly, Merck, Pfizer, Pharmacia, Roche, SmithKline Beecham, and many more.

Our Patient Assistance Program… (3) n At any given time we have around 80 patients in our Patient Assistance Program. Some are receiving up to five medications each month. n We estimate that the monetary value of these prescriptions is about $300 per month per patient. n Our staff spends about 20 hours each month administering the program. n The total value of this program to our patients is about $292,800 per year. The clinic does not receive reimbursement of any kind for these services. n We offer the Patient Assistance Program to our patients because we care. We want them to be able to get the best healthcare possible.

Other Medication Assistance Programs … for Low-Middle Income Patients n “TOGETHER Rx”: a cooperative of 8 pharmaceutical companies that provide 150 medications for patients who qualify. n Income requirements: - $28,000 for individual - $38,000 for couple n No fee to apply. n Once approved, the physician writes a prescription which may be filled at any pharmacy. n Patient receives a 30-day supply of an individual medication for only $15.00.

Other Medication Assistance Programs… (2) n Pfizer’s “SHARE CARD” Program n Designed for patients at poverty level - $18,000 for individual - $24,000 for couples n Only $15.00 for a 30-day supply of any Pfiser Division medication. n Includes Viagra, Norvasc, Lipitor, Celebrex…and many more.

Prescription Compliance… n Compliance with prescriptions on an out-patient basis improves quality of life, and reduces hospitalizations!
