Communism vs. Capitalism SSWG6f Analyze the impact of geography on Russia in terms of population distribution, trade, and involvement in European affairs.

Capitalism Communism Found mostly in industrialized nations (Japan, US, most of Europe) Found mostly in less developed countries with big agricultural sectors (China, Cuba, North Korea etc.)

Capitalism Communism Usually associated with a democratic government Usually associated with an autocratic or oligarchic government

Capitalism Communism Allows people to make as much money as possible. The intention is for everyone in society to be as equal as possible.

Capitalism Communism Gives more choices in marketplace Gives fewer choices in marketplace

Capitalism Communism Bigger opportunity for luxury items Basic needs only

Capitalism Communism Much more freedom to choose your job and therefore make the money you want Government has some say in your job choice but you end up with relatively equal pay anyway

Capitalism Communism Government usually provides healthcare (usually low quality), and provides for education. Must pay for healthcare and to some degree education

Capitalism Communism Prices change with the market and can sometimes be very high Since prices are set by the government, they are relatively stable and affordable

End Assignment Which one is better? Three reasons why it is better. At least one positive thing about the view you didn’t choose.
