Thirty years ago, the Synod of the Christian Reformed Church called on us to commit one Sunday a year and one percent of our income to help alleviate poverty and hunger around the world.

For thirty years, you have answered that call.

Today is World Hunger Sunday.

It is a day set aside for us to remember those who are hungry

And recommit ourselves to being part of the solution to end hunger.

Ending hunger is possible.

One day…

When people can grow their own food

and protect their crops from disease and drought;

When every child can get an education

and every person obtain job skills;

When each parent is able to earn money

to buy food for their own families;

And when the world works together for fair policies and justice;

When people like YOU continue to CARE

Hunger will finally be a thing of the past.

At God’s table

We are all one.

Please give generously.

While we may live thousands of miles apart, “we who are many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf” (I Corinthians 10:17).
