Eid-GreeTINGS

Allah (SWT) says… " It is HE who made the sun to be a shining glory and the moon to be light (of beauty),and set out the phases for it; so that you may know the numbers of year and counts (the time). Allah did not create this expect in the truth and righteousness. He explains His signs in detail, for people who have knowledge…” - Quran 10:5

 Families wake up early in the morning, put on their best clothes and go to the mosque for the Eid sermon and congregational prayers.  Before the festivities begin, every person, adult and child, must have already contributed towards Zakat-ul-Fitr (Charity). This is the giving of a meal, or cash equivalent, to a needy person to make sure that none are excluded from this happy occasion.

 Sweets & Desserts are one of the most important part of the day’s cuisine which differ from country to country and state to state.  The day is accompanied by celebration, socializing, festive meals and modest gift-giving or cash-giving to children.  Houses are well decorated before the Eid-Celebrations and girls & women decorate their hands with Henna.
