The Antidote to Despair Think on good, noble, right things. Find the good in each situation. (Phil 4:13) Set your heart on cheerfulness, quiet joy, or a steadfast understanding that all will be well. Proverbs 15:13. “A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance, but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.” (so Prov 18:24, “If you want friends, then be friendly” -- NKJV). Proverbs 17:22 “A merry heart does good, like medicine...”
