Presentation transcript:

Body Systems S7L2. Students will describe the structure and function of cells, tissues, organs, and organ systems. d. Explain that tissues, organs, and organ systems serve the needs cells have for oxygen, food, and waste removal. e. Explain the purpose of the major organ systems in the human body (i.e., digestion, respiration, reproduction, circulation, excretion, movement, control, and coordination, and for protection from disease).

Body Systems Booklet We are going to create a booklet that will contain the majority of the material we need to know about the major organ systems of the body.

Body Systems Booklet Everybody has been given 2 sheets of unlined paper. Put one paper on top of the other and fold them both in half (short-side to short-side). Fold them a second time. Put two staples along the fold Cut the un-open side along the edge to form a book

Body Systems Booklet Label to the book “Body Systems Booklet” on the front cover Add your name, my name (Dr. Kutscher), and your period to the cover as well The inside of the front cover will be for the table of contents

Body Systems Booklet Page 1 – Table of Contents Page 2 – Skeletal System Page 3 – Muscular System Page 4 – Cardiovascular/Circulatory System Page 5 – Respiratory System Page 6 – Nervous System Page 7 – Endocrine System Page 8 – Lymphatic System Page 9 – Integumentary System Page 10 – Urinary System Page 11 – Digestive System Page 12 – Types of Tissues Page 13 – Extra Notes Page 14 – Extra Notes

Skeletal System Draw a picture of the skeletal system. What are the major functions of the skeletal system? What are the major organs of the skeletal system? How does the skeletal system serve the needs cells have for food, oxygen, or waste removal?

You will complete a similar page for each of the systems Body Systems Booklet You will complete a similar page for each of the systems Draw a picture of the system. Name the major functions of the system? Name the major organs of the system? How does the system serve the needs cells have for food, oxygen, or waste removal?
