Make Me New A new year. A new start. A new me.

Ephesians 5:15-17 (NLT) 15 So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. 16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. 17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.

Ephesians 5:15-17 (NLT) 15 So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. 16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. 17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.

Our time on earth is limited.

James 4:14 (NLT) 14 How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.

Psalm 39:4 (NLT) 4 “Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered— how fleeting my life is.

Psalm 90:10 (NLT) 10 Seventy years are given to us! Some even live to eighty. But even the best years are filled with pain and trouble; soon they disappear, and we fly away.

Psalm 90:12 (NLT) 12 Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.

So be careful how you live.

Ephesians 5:15a (NLT) 15 So be careful how you live…

Ephesians 5:15b (NLT) …Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise.

Make the most of every opportunity.

Ephesians 5:16 (NLT) 16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.

Where would you like to invest more time in 2013?

What would be the benefits or outcome of that investment?

Why not today?

Luke 10:41 (NLT) But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details!

Ephesians 5:17 (NLT) 17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.

1. Confront head-on the things in your life that give you anxiety and stress.

Call to Action: Establish your priorities

Matthew 6:33 (NIV1984) But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

2. Release your regrets, renew your hope.

Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV1984) 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Call to Action: Trust the Lord with your future.

3. Pray simple prayers.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT) 17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

Romans 13:11-12 (NLT) 11 This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. 12 The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living.

Call to Action: Pray now.

Ephesians 5:15-17 (NLT) 15 So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. 16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. 17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.
