Hollow Sucker Rods Currently at least one major manufacturer has 7/8” hollow rods available. The pin is the same as a 7/8” but the body is different. The body of the 7/8” rod is 1.049” while the ID is .434”. The wall thickness is 0.308” and a load carrying area of 0.716 sq. in. is present in the body. The wt/ft is 2.53#/ft.
