INTERESTING FACTS FOR

To be born on a Sunday is considered a great sin for the Puritans. Puritans believed that women who were pregnant with a male child appear to have a pink and rosy tone, while women who were pregnant with female children appear to be pale in skin color. Church attendance for the Puritans was mandatory, violations will be subjected to a fine. Women had unfair treatment in the Puritan society, they were not included in meetings and gatherings, and could not make decisions in a church.

Puritans turned their accusations to Witchcraft when they couldn’t diagnose the correct sickness. Puritan’s sense of fashion is more toward the conservative side. Often characterized by “depressing” colors and bland cuts. Both gender’s clothing avoided bright and attractive colors, jewelry, and other attires. The clothes also show minimum area of skin.
