Presentation transcript:

Doreen Williams decided to bake an apple pie to enjoy. She spent her own money to buy all the ingredients for making the pie. She used her own time and effort to mix the ingredients and bake the pie. After several hours of hard work, Mrs. Williams’ pie was finished and looked delicious!

Mrs. Williams brought the pie to school to enjoy throughout the week. While walking by the room, Imani, Myles, Billy, and Brielle smelled the wonderful aroma of the pie. They decided to take the pie and eat it themselves.

How might the four students be able to take the pie from Mrs. Williams?

After taking the pie, the four students face a dilemma: How will they divide the pie among themselves?

What are some different ways that the pie could be divided among the four students?

Are all of these ways fair?

Why might some of the students get a bigger piece of the pie than others?

No matter how the pie is divided, to what person is this entire process unfair? Why?
