What are analogies? Analogies are a way of comparing two things with words. Most common analogies are ones that find similarities between the features of two things or ones that compare things that are opposite of each other.

Working with Analogies Here are some simple examples: Here are some simple examples: Newspaper is to Read Newspaper is to Read as Chair is to Sit We compared two things…newspaper and read. Then we took two completely different words and compared them in the same way. A newspaper is to read just like a chair is made to sit in.
