Survey Background Survey administered in odd-numbered years since 1993 Completed under a cooperative agreement with the National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Measures key risk areas of AODA, Tobacco Use, Sexual Activity, Violence and Weapon Carrying, Depression and Suicide Ideation, Dietary Patterns, and Physical Activity

Survey Background (continued) 65 Wisconsin high schools drawn for sample, with 53 agreeing to participate (82%) 2843 eligible students from participating high schools completed surveys (84%) Combined participation rate of 68% resulted in “weighting” of data and ability to generalize responses for the high school population across the state UW-Milwaukee coordinated data collection
