Getting to Know the Triple Beam Balance

What is the function of the measurement tray? measurement tray: holds the item(s) that are being measured

What is the function of the rider beams? rider beams: hold the riders and are labeled with number increments by hundreds, tens, and ones

What is the function of the adjustment knob? adjustment knob: knob that can be turned to zero out, level, equalize the balance to make accurate measurements

What is the function of the pointer? pointer: when pointer and 0 are level (match up) the mass measurement is accurate

What is the function of the riders? riders: moveable weights
