“MAKING MEMORIES” Presented by: (add presenter name here) Written by: Drs. Claudio & Pamela Consuegra Directors of the Department of Family Ministries for the North American Division From Revival and Reformation: Building Family Memories

“So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by our letter” (2 Thessalonians 2:15 NRSV).

1. Traditions bring a family together, causing the members to know one another better.

2. Traditions create positive memories which can provide encouragement and stability. “By the rivers of Babylon – there we sat down and there we wept when we remembered Zion” (Psalms 137:1 NRSV).

3. Traditions are cherished and passed along to future generations “Is this the little girl I carried? Is this the little boy at play? I don't remember growing older, when did they? Sunrise, sunset, sunrise, sunset, quickly fly the 'years. One season following another, laden with happiness and tears. —SUNRISE, SUNSET”

3. Traditions are cherished and passed along to future generations “Tradition? The papa, tradition...the mama, tradition... the son and the daughter, tradition... a family? Tradition, Tradition, Tradition!”
