Presentation transcript:

We use a pan balance scale to weigh items We use a pan balance scale to weigh items. We put the item on one side of the scale and measuring weights on the other side to find the item’s weight.

We use a spring scale to weigh items We use a spring scale to weigh items. We put the item on the hook and the item’s weight pulls the spring to show its weight.

We use a thermometer to test temperature We use a thermometer to test temperature. We can read a thermometer in Celsius and Fahrenheit.

We use a stop watch to time something short term We use a stop watch to time something short term. A stop watch can tell us how many seconds, minutes, and hours have passed.

Metric Ruler

We use a metric ruler to measure the length of an item in metric~ cm/mm/m or standard form~ inches/feet.

We use a microscope to look at microscopic items that you can’t see with just your eyes. The microscope magnifies the object.

We use beakers to measure liquid We use beakers to measure liquid. Beakers are made out of glass material and can be heated.

Wind Vane

We use a wind vane to tell us from which direction the wind is blowing. North, East, South, West

Graduated Cylinders

We use graduated cylinders measure liquids.

Rain Gauge

We use a rain gauge to measure how much rain fell to the earth.

We use measuring cups to measure and convert measurements of liquids and pour them into other containers through the spout.

We use measuring spoons to measure small amounts of liquids or solids.

Hot Plate

We use a Hot Plate to heat up materials for a science investigations.

Camera

We use a camera to take pictures of our experiments.

Computer

We use petri dishes to place material in that we want to observe overtime and close the lids.

We use eyedroppers to draw/suck liquid material up.

We use hand lens to magnify material that we CAN see with the naked eye.

Compass

We use a compass to help us tell which direction we are going We use a compass to help us tell which direction we are going. North, East, South , West

Collecting Net

We use a collecting net to help aid in collecting insects and sometimes fish.

Safety Goggles

We use safety goggles to protect our eyes.

Sound Recorder

We use sound recorder to tape things we hear or say during labs.

Magnet

We use magnets to help us hold things.

Science Journal

We use science journals to journal about our experiments and reflect on what we learned.

Gloves

We use gloves to protect our hands.

Earth, Sun, Moon, System Model

We use an earth, sun, moon, system model to demonstrate how the moon orbits the earth and the earth orbits the sun.
