Given the name “rubber” by Joseph Priestly, 1770 because it could rub off pencil marks. Queen Victoria’s Carriage Tires made of rubber 1846 Hevea brasiliensis is the most popular tree -- grows 50 ft high Transplanted by the English to Asia where it thrives. 42% of rubber is still produced naturally

What’s that smell? Ammonia is added into the collection cups to prevent coagulation.

Woofers used to use natural rubber on cloth surrounds (I think). Now we use this urethane stuff. Someone restored these classic AR3a’s with a modern surround. As tragic as painting an old car with urethane paint.
