Battle of Coral Sea May 7 th -8 th 1942

Why did it start? The Reason why the battle of Coral Sea started is because the Japanese were into capturing land. They were into capturing Port Moresby, and New Guinea. The invasion was actually planed to happen in March but the appearance of carriers by the united states in the south-west Pacific had postponed it until May.
