THE BATTLE IS THE LORDS!

‘Judah, I’ve got your back’, I’m with you, for ultimately, “…the battle is not yours, but [mine]…” (2 Chronicles 20:15). So “go out [and] face [whatever you have to face, for I] will be with you…” (2 Chronicles 20:17).

What’s the use?

What a God!

Confess Helplessness; Utter, Complete, Total Need.

Lord, the Moabites and Amorites are creaming us; they’re coming “…to kick us out of the country you gave us. O dear God…we’re helpless before this vandal horde… We don’t know what to do…” (2 Chronicles 20:11- 12, The Message).

Fix Attention And Hope, Toward The Lord.

“…let us throw off everything that hinders…and run with perseverant the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus…who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame…[sitting] down [ultimately] at the right hand…of God….Consider Him who endured such opposition…so that you will not grow weary and lose heart…” (Hebrews 12:2-3).

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart” Solomon advises in Proverbs 3 don’t “…lean…on your own understanding. In all your ways [even painful ways] acknowledge him [fix on him] and he will make [straight your] paths…” (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Be Patient: God Does Things God’s Way, But God Always ‘Comes-Through.’

I mean in Exodus 14 the Israelites were trapped at the Red Sea; but God ‘came through,’ parting the Red Sea. (Exodus 14:1-31).

In I Kings 17 the widow of Zarephath was down to her drop of oil; but ‘God came through,’ filling her jug, so it never went dry. (1 Kings 17:17-24).

In Mark 4 the disciples are capsizing on the Sea of Galilee; but ‘God came through,’ calming the waters in a miraculous way. (Mark 4:35-41).

For our God, as Mark Batterson notes, is a JEJIT God – just enough, just in time!

“Give thanks to the Lord, for his love endures forever,” the Judeans sang, and as they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab…and they were defeated…” (2 Chronicles 20:21-22).

It’s Him again!

For ultimately “…the battle is not [ours] but [His]…” (2 Chronicles 20:15). And so “go out [and] face [whatever you have to face]” God declares. For “…I will be with you…” (2 Chronicles 20:17).

“[Fix on him] and he will make [straight your] paths…” (Proverbs 3:5-6).

It’s Him again!
