WELCOME TO WORSHIP stsimonspartick.org.uk Feast of St Mungo (or Kentigern = Ceann Tighearna = The Chief of the Lord) Patron of the City of Glasgow

INTROIT ANTIPHON Christ be beside me, Christ be before me

THE WORD for the feast of St Mungo (Kentigern)

Old Testament Reading ISAIAH How lovely on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news

Psalm 79: Response God of hosts bring us back Lead us and we shall be saved

Epistle 2 nd TIMOTHY Flourish by the preaching of the Word

Gospel Acclamation Alleluia

Gospel LUKE Simon Peter lands a load of fish

APOSTLES’ CREED I believe in God the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth and in Jesus Christ, his only Son our Lord who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen

PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL In response to the Gospel anyone may try and say a prayer, ending: Lord in your mercy….. Missal suggests 4 intentions That our church might….. That our society might….. That our parish might….. At this special time we might.. PLEASE NOTE: these prayers are for us here. Those who are absent (the poor, refugees, sick, dead etc) should be remembered at the “memento” during the Eucharistic prayer

There is no plate collection here unless for a previously intimated good cause. If you wish to support your place of worship you should do this through your bank or the envelope system. Forms in sacristy. Box at back for visitors’ donations. Pray that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God the Almighty Father May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of his name, for our good and the good of all his holy church

EUCHARISTIC PRAYER The Lord be with you And with your spirit Lift up your hearts We lift them up to the Lord Let us give thanks to the Lord our God It is right and just PREFACE TO THE EUCHARISTIC PRAYER

SANCTUS (Schubert) Holy holy holy, Lord God of hosts (x2) Heaven and earth are full, full of your glory Hosanna in the highest (x2) Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord Hosanna in the highest (x2)

PROCLAMATION OF FAITH We proclaim your death O Lord and profess your resurrection until you come again, until you come again.

GREAT AMEN

THE LORD’S PRAYER If English is not your first language you are encouraged to say this prayer in the language in which you first learned it …..for the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. The peace of the Lord be with you always: and with your spirit.

Agnus Dei qui tollis peccata mundi, miserere nobis (x2) Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world, have mercy on us Agnus Dei qui tollis peccata mundi, dona nobis pacem ……grant us peace. Please kneel

Behold the Lamb of God, behold Him who takes away the sins of the world. Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb Lord I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.
